Join Us for a Night of Inspiration and a Garden Tool Shower Event!

Mark your calendars for an exciting and educational PechaKucha Night that celebrates sustainability, wellness, and community!

Gardening Tool Shower Event: Help local urban farmers begin their journey by participating in a garden tool shower. Tools in used/good to new condition such as shovels, hoes, wheelbarrows, mattocks, spades etc will be accepted as part of the launching of the local Grassroots Growers tool library!

What's PechaKucha?

PechaKucha is a unique presentation style where speakers share their ideas using 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. This fast-paced and engaging format keeps the audience captivated!

- Engage in a dynamic and interactive PechaKucha-style event.

- Receive free gardening tools to take home.

- Network with like-minded individuals who are passionate about sustainability.

Presenters:

Taylor Marshall - Taylor Marshall is a multi-talented and heart centered young woman who is dedicated to nurturing humanity and the environment. She is an Environmental Champion, Permaculturist, Practicing Herbalist, Sustainability Practitioner, Certified Death Doula, Reiki Practitioner, & Nonprofit & Grassroots Food Sovereignty Leader. Taylor is not only proud to serve as secretary for the board of Island Culture Z 501(c)(3) whose mission is to ignite a culture of liberation, but also as Vice President on the board of the Winston-Salem Permaculture Collective 501(c)(3) whose mission is to increase access to nutritious foods one food forest at a time. She is also the Founder of Arum Wellness for Alternative Holistic Health & Wellness support that is  “cultivating a space to cherish the beauty of life as we demystify the journey towards death.” 

Josh Banks - Combining his passion for plant life & the arts, Josh spent the last three years of his time in Southern California tending to organic fruit trees while writing and recording music. Currently, Josh is strengthening his knowledge as he assists Dr. English Bradshaw in managing the prestigious MICDC Urban Farm (https://micdcwsnc.wixsite.com/micdc) located just outside of Winston-Salem, where he channels his expertise to promote sustainability & wellness. Grounded in his belief in giving back to Mother Earth, Josh is committed to leaving a positive impact, honoring both the past & future generations in his endeavors.

Moriah Gendy - As a member of the City of WS Sustainability, Moriah focuses on creating sustainable solutions for the community. Learn about innovative initiatives and how you can make an impact in your city.

Payton Picardi - Representing The NC Paper Project, Payton is an advocate for sustainability and recycling. Discover the art of transforming recycled materials into beautiful and useful paper products.
